      Hey everyone!

This is my NWN interpretation of Aerie, the wingless Avariel from BG 2. You first meet her in a circus tent that has some weird stuff going on, just after escaping from Irenicus’s dungeon. You save her and her “adoptive pops”, a gnome named Quayle from danger, and then she joins your party. She’s an interesting character, although not that useful. The only Mage / Cleric in the game, which is cool, but a bit of a whiner. “Oh, my wings this, my wings that”. You could even romance her if you so desired, but I always chose not to. She was a PITA lol. What I like the most about her are her classes, as they’re my two favourite classes in NWN, so despite my general contempt for the character in the game, it was a pleasure to come up with a build that made sense for her, and I believe I did just that.

This build is as much a dual-caster as any build will ever be. She can cast pretty much all spells in the game, except some Druid or Bard exclusives, she can snipe pretty decently with Zen Archery, and her AC isn’t at all bad with Monk AC. Her Implosion DC is pretty good, and with ESF in Evocation, she can make great use of some Arcane Evocation spells too, like Great Thunderclap and Prismatic Spray. As long as she attacks the enemy’s weak save, her DCs should be high enough. The weaknesses she has are low HP and the fact that she needs a tank in front of her to shine, like most archer builds, even though with the Animal Domain, she has improved Summons, which help a lot early on! But she also has a couple more weaknesses that are going to be a problem: Spell Resistance and Dispellability. She has a humongous toolbox at her disposal with so many spells, and her good WIS score means she will be able to get her Divine spells through most saves, but her low Caster Levels (even with Spell Penetration, she only has 26 Wizard and 24 Cleric Caster Levels for trying to beat SR) means that she needs to find alternative ways of dealing with Spell Resistant mobs and bosses.

Still, she’s a very versatile character, and a great addition to any party, as well as a perfect companion for a melee frontliner.
